Package from 2017 finally arrived!

Does everything come back to you? Absolutely! And here is the proof: after 4 years! A long-lost Christmas parcel from 2017 has resurfaced on the Ochsenwerder Elbdeich. That’s where its journey began back then—but it never reached Uganda as planned. All the wonderful donated gifts and clothes unfortunately never made it to our kids and friends. The last sign of life from the parcel came months later from South Africa—and then nothing more.

But then, last Saturday, the postman rang the doorbell and surprised us with the 29.5 kg giant. The outside of the parcel was damaged, but the contents were 100% intact—amazing!

So this “big guy” will be sent on its way again in November, freshly washed clothes and new chocolate included (although the chocolate did expire in 2019…). Will the parcel make it this time? Fingers crossed!

PS: All the many parcels we have sent to Uganda so far have arrived safely. This lost parcel was the exception. Case solved!
