Water and electricity for Mbale – From Carla & friends with love! :)

Carla is 6 years old and one of our youngest supporters! Carla had the great idea to build a well. Until recently, there was no piped water in Mbale; instead, it had to be carried every morning in canisters and buckets from a water source about 1.5 km away. On foot!

And so, a fundraising campaign was launched, which Carla’s mom and Timo promoted so effectively that the money for the well was raised in a very short time. There was even enough money left over to build a solar power system. Carla, Anne, and Timo: THAT WAS AMAZING!!! A huge thank you to you and all the hardworking donors!

PS: The children in Mbale now have a wonderful house with a large water tank from which water can be drawn at any time to be boiled for drinking water—and the house even has light. For this rural region, it is a sensation. And perhaps soon, the children will not only be able to spend their holidays in the house but live there as well.
